Evolving towards Sustainable Development: Revitalizing Cebu tele-net’s CSR Agenda

In solidarity with the United Nations and all of its member states, the tele-net group of companies, under which Cebu tele-net Philippines Corporation is a part of, adopts as part of its corporate agenda The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which spells out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as urgent calls to action for global partnership among states and institutions.

Over the past 28 years, Cebu tele-net has maintained a socially responsible corporate presence in all areas of its operation. In all of the locations where Cebu tele-net operates, it has sustained its commitment to a culture of “Omotenashi”, that world-class Japanese brand of “Care” and “Hospitality”. In all areas of its operation, this culture of “Care” defines how tele-net handles customer concerns and transactions, how it manages thousands of employees all over the world, and how it co-exists with institutions and communities where it operates.

Thus, Cebu tele-net has established a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda under which it “strives to be a model corporate citizen and recognizes the responsibility to work in partnership with the communities in which we operate.” It implemented initiatives for positive contribution such as volunteer work for local orphans, immediate emergency relief efforts for communities ravaged by natural and extra-ordinary calamities, sustained tree planting efforts, and partnership with philanthropic groups and institutions for more long lasting positive contribution.

For this year and the next, propelled by our 2022 corporate theme of “Evolution”, Cebu tele-net adopts 7 SGDs as part and parcel of its comprehensive CSR agenda.
